Lifestyle Questionnaire
Tell us a little bit about how you keep fit year round.
Over the past few years it has become more and more challenging to keep active. I used to swim every day, and golf a few times per week. Now I'm lucky if I can make it down to the coffee shop each morning without my scooter. I manage to get 2 swims in each week, and when I'm feeling really good I can golf 9 holes.
What is your diet like? Any special requirements?
I'm diabetic, have been for over 50 years.
What motivates you to stay fit and healthy?
My wife is only 3 years younger than me, but she acts like she's 20 years younger. She definitely motivates me to keep staggering along each day.
Protein Powder
Why did you decide to start incorporating protein powder into your diet?
As a diabetic, it is important to get enough protein. Red meat is high in saturated fat, so as much as I would love to get my protein from steak every day, it isn't a great option for me. My family is always warning me to watch my blood cholesterol. Protein powder was suggested by an old golf buddy who first started using it when he was running out of energy on the back nine.
Why did you choose EidoPro Protein Powder?
My wife chose it - she did the research and made sure it wasn't full of sugar. I was surprised that it doesn't have any added sweeteners actually. I thought all those protein powders tasted like milkshakes.
How do you use EidoPro Protein Powder now?
I add 1/2 scoop to my morning oatmeal every single day. My grand kids have tried to get me drinking those green smoothies, but I'm a creature of habit. I don't even taste it in the oatmeal.

So there you have it - a week in the life of an 84 year old diabetic. When I turned 80 I really felt my energy level go down, and the pain in my joints increase.
Two things have really helped: moving to Kauai and increasing the protein in my diet. If you can't move to Hawaii, I would definitely recommend giving EidoPro Protein Powder a try - especially if you're diabetic! Next week
